HOMAGE TO MASTER OF POLISH CINEMA..

ANDRZEJ WAJDA!


One of the greatest filmmakers of the world cinema..Polish film & theatre director Andrzej Witold Wajda passed away last year!



In 1954 Wajda directed his first film 'A Generation' and same time he started working on theatre also! He then made next two films of war trilogy..'Kanal' (1956) which was about Warsaw Uprising & 'Ashes and Diamonds' (1958). He developed anti-war themes and was more interested in allegory and symbolism!

Wajda's film 'The Promised Land' (1975) won 'Golden Prize' at '9th Moscow International Film Festival'. Then his 'Man of Marble' (1977) was also notable and next 'Man of Iron' (1981) depicted solidarity movement. This film won 'Palme d'Or' at 'Cannes Film Festival'! Then 'Katyn' (2007) touched the heart!
